Accepted Proof of Residence Documents

Learn which proof of residence documents are accepted, the requirements they must meet, and how to avoid delays during account verification.

To complete your account verification, you'll need to upload a valid proof of residence document. Your document must clearly show your name and residential address and meet the requirements below.

📄 Accepted Proof of Residence Documents

You may upload any of the following:

  • Utility bill (including cell phone bills)

  • Bank statement

  • Government-issued correspondence

Shared utility bills are accepted, provided your name also appears on the document.

✅ Document Requirements

To be accepted, your proof of residence must:

  • Show your full legal name.

  • Show your current residential address.

  • Be dated within the last 3 months.

  • Be clear, complete, and easy to read.

Accepted file formats include those displayed on the upload page, including PDF where supported.

❌ Documents We Cannot Accept

The following are not accepted as proof of residence:

  • Screenshots

  • Documents displaying a P.O. Box instead of a residential address

  • Expired documents

  • Documents that do not clearly show your name and address

  • Identification documents such as passports, driver's licences, or birth certificates

🏠 Special Situations

I Rent and Don't Have Utility Bills

If you don't receive utility bills in your name, you may upload:

  • A recent bank statement.

  • A government-issued letter.

  • A cell phone bill showing your name and residential address.

If your bank statements are only available online, you can usually download an official PDF statement from your online banking portal.

Shared Utility Bills

Shared utility bills are accepted as long as:

  • Your name appears on the bill.

  • The document meets all other proof of residence requirements.

⚠️ Common Reasons Documents Are Rejected

Your proof of residence may be rejected if:

  • It is older than 3 months.

  • Your name or address is missing.

  • The image is blurry or incomplete.

  • A screenshot was uploaded instead of the original document.

  • The document shows a P.O. Box rather than a residential address.

Taking a clear photo or uploading the original PDF can help prevent delays.
