Most Interac e-Transfers are processed quickly, but banking delays, incorrect payment information, or additional account reviews can sometimes increase processing times.
Once an eligible deposit is received and approved, it is automatically used to purchase Bitcoin and the Bitcoin is sent to your designated wallet.
⏱️ How Long Should My Interac e-Transfer Take?
Most Interac e-Transfers are processed within approximately 30 minutes during business hours.
Bitcoin delivery may take up to 12 hours after payment confirmation and required compliance checks, depending on processing volume or whether additional verification is required.
If your transfer was sent recently, allow some time for both your bank and 1Bitcoin.ca to process it before taking further action.

📧 Check the Recipient Information
Make sure you sent the Interac e-Transfer using the exact payment instructions provided in your 1Bitcoin.ca account.
An incorrect recipient email address or other incorrect payment information may prevent your transfer from being processed normally.
If you believe you sent the transfer to the wrong recipient, contact your bank as soon as possible to determine whether the transfer can still be cancelled.
🔑 Check Your Reference Code
Your unique Account ID or reference code must be included in the appropriate message field when sending your Interac e-Transfer.
If the code is missing or incorrect, the payment may not automatically match to your account and manual review may be required.
Do not send another transfer just to correct a missing reference code.

₿ My Transfer Was Received, but My Bitcoin Hasn't Arrived
If your Interac e-Transfer has been processed but the Bitcoin hasn't appeared in your wallet, the issue may no longer be related to Interac.
Your Bitcoin purchase may still be processing or the transaction may be waiting on the Bitcoin network.
If a transaction ID (TXID) is available, you can use it to check the transaction status.

↩️ Was Your Payment Returned?
In some situations, a payment may need to be returned instead of processed.
CAD returned by Interac e-Transfer is sent to the email address associated with your 1Bitcoin.ca account. It is not held as an in-platform CAD balance.
If you've been notified that funds were returned, check the email address registered to your account for the Interac e-Transfer instructions.
