Troubleshooting Interac e-Transfer Issues

Waiting for your e-Transfer deposit to appear? Most deposits are processed quickly, but delays can occasionally happen. Here are the most common issues to check first.


⏱️ First, Give It a Little Time

Most Interac e-Transfer deposits are processed within:

  • 30 minutes during business hours

If it has been longer than:

  • 1 hour

review the checks below before contacting support.


✅ Check the Recipient Email Address

Make sure the recipient email matches exactly what is shown in your 1Bitcoin.ca dashboard.

Even small spelling mistakes can delay processing.


🔑 Check Your Reference Code

Your unique Account ID or reference code must be included in the message field of your e-Transfer.

Without it, your deposit may not automatically connect to your account.

🏦 Make Sure the Transfer Came From the Correct Account

Deposits should be sent from:

  • a Canadian personal bank account

Delays may happen if the transfer was sent from:

  • a business account

  • a joint account

  • an account under a different name

  • screenshot of your e-Transfer confirmation

  • time the transfer was sent

  • amount sent

  • bank used
