🔒 What Is 2FA?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step when logging into your account.
After entering your password, you’ll also need:
a temporary 6-digit code
generated by your authenticator app
Even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without your 2FA code.

1️⃣ Log Into Your Account
Sign into your 1Bitcoin.ca account and open:
Settings
Security
2️⃣ Enable 2FA
Click:
Enable 2FA
A QR code and backup key will appear on your screen.
3️⃣ Open an Authenticator App
Use an authenticator app such as:
Google Authenticator
Authy
1Password
Scan the QR code using the app. Alternatively, you can use the Manual Entry option to enter the key provided by the platform manually into the app.
4️⃣ Enter the Verification Code
Your authenticator app will generate:
a 6-digit code
Enter the code into your 1Bitcoin.ca account to complete setup.
Once enabled:
2FA will be required during login and transactions.

2FA helps:
protect your account from unauthorized access
reduce the risk of stolen passwords
secure your account even if login credentials are exposed
Setup usually takes:
less than 2 minutes

save your backup key securely
store it offline if possible
⚠️ If you lose access to your phone and backup key, additional account verification may be required to recover access.
