A whitelisted Bitcoin address is a pre-approved wallet address connected to your account.
This helps reduce the risk of unauthorized transactions or scams by ensuring Bitcoin is only sent to verified and trusted destinations.
1Bitcoin.ca uses whitelisted wallet addresses to help improve security and reduce the risk of Bitcoin being sent to the wrong address.
Bitcoin purchases and withdrawals can only be sent to approved wallet addresses added to your account.
⚙️ How To Add a Whitelisted Bitcoin Address
To add a wallet address:
log into your 1Bitcoin.ca account
open your Profile
locate the Whitelisted Bitcoin Addresses section
select Add Address
enter your Bitcoin wallet address
confirm and save the address- check your email for a confirmation link and verify the address
Once added, the address can be used for Bitcoin delivery and Auto-Buy transactions. The address becomes active only after email confirmation is completed.
You can also set the newly added address as your default destination for future transactions.
Ensure all verification steps, including email confirmation and 2FA, are completed to avoid delays in activation.
Security Measures
A 24-hour waiting period applies after changing a whitelisted address before another purchase can be made.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is required for any changes to ensure account security.
Address changes cannot be made while a deposit is being processed.
You can whitelist an unlimited number of Bitcoin wallet addresses.
📬 Choosing the Correct Wallet Address
Before adding a wallet address:
confirm the wallet supports Bitcoin
double-check the address carefully
verify the first and last characters
make sure you control the wallet
regularly review saved destinations to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date
use descriptive labels for saved destinations to make them easily identifiable
