Why Has My Etransfer Not Been Credited?
Why Has My Etransfer Not Been Credited?
Updated over a week ago

Your Etransfer may not have been deposited into your 1Bitcoin account for a variety of reasons. This article will walk you through the steps needed to ensure that your Etransfer is received and credited to your account.

1. Check for an email from the 1Bitcoin.ca Team.

There are a number of reasons that we may have received your funds, but have not credited your account. In these scenarios, a member of the 1Bitcoin.ca Team will reach out to you via email in order to resolve your deposit.

  • Your Etransfer was received, but the note on the Etransfer does not match the note we required you to input.

  • Your Etransfer was received, but the name of the sender did not match the name of the 1Bitcoin.ca Account holder.

  • Your Etransfer was received, but was sent from a business bank account when you hold a personal 1Bitcoin.ca Account.

  • Your Etransfer was received, but the security question/answer did not match the information that we required.

In these situations, if the Etransfer was not already autodeposited into our account, you will be able to cancel the Etransfer within your online banking platform and resend using the correct information.

In the event that your Etransfer was autodeposited into our account already, we will require documentation that will allow us to re-send the funds back to the sender. Please contact us at [email protected] in order to initiate this process.

2. Your e-Transfer has been put on hold by your bank and needs to be released.

When an e-Transfer has been put on hold, it will look like your e-Transfer has been sent and that the money has disappeared from your bank account - rest assured your money is safe. You can verify that your Etransfer has been put on hold by waiting atleast 30 minutes after sending, and checking the status of the Etransfer via your online banking platform. If the status does not say "Autodeposited" or "Received", or if you have yet to get an email from Interac stating that the Etransfer has been received by us, you can be certain that it is being held.

Etransfers could be held for a number of reasons:

  • Your bank has policies in place regarding cryptocurrency transactions

  • You are sending an Etransfer to a us for the first time

  • You are sending an amount to us that is abnormal for you to usually send.

Call your bank to release your e-Transfer

To have your Etransfer released, simply call your bank and tell them that you authorize the Etransfer to be sent to the intended recipient

  • If your bank states that everything is ok on their end and that it is an issue with our bank, this is false. Please tell them you have already spoken with us and can confirm it must be released by the sending bank.

  • This can be done via your bank's phone support and does not require you to visit them in one of your bank's branches.

If you are still having issues after following the steps above, please send us an email at [email protected] and a member of our team will assist you further.
