If you sent an Interac e-Transfer without including your 1Bitcoin.ca reference code, don’t worry — your funds are safe. Your transfer may simply require a manual review before it can be credited to your account.
What You Need to Do
Please email [email protected] with the subject line:
Missing reference code — [your account email]
In your email, include the following information:
Your 1Bitcoin.ca account email
The exact amount sent (in CAD)
The date and approximate time of the transfer
Your Interac e-Transfer confirmation number/code
A screenshot of the sent e-Transfer from your banking app
Processing Time
Once we receive your email and verify the transfer, deposits are typically credited within 4 business hours during normal operating hours:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET
Why This Happens
Your reference code is how our system automatically matches your Interac e-Transfer to your 1Bitcoin.ca account.
When the reference code is missing, the transfer is placed into an unmatched queue for manual review. This does notmean your funds are lost — it simply means our team needs to manually confirm and assign the transfer to the correct account.
How to Avoid This in the Future
Before sending your next Interac e-Transfer:
Copy your unique reference code from your 1Bitcoin.ca dashboard
Paste it into the “Message” or “Memo” field when creating the transfer
Including the reference code ensures your deposit is processed automatically and without delays.
If you still need help, email [email protected] with your e-Transfer confirmation and account email, and include “Missing reference code” in the subject line.
